A Warm Welcome on a Cold Wet Day, Tigh Na Mara is a warm, dog friendly, welcoming place.The staff were very friendly and accommodating, made us and our dog really welcome. We had a delicious lunch freshly made from quality produce presented and prepared with care. Our server even brought Poppy our Spaniel a delicious slice of beef on a napkin so we were all happy. Highly recommended.
Had a fantastic 3 course meal here on the way back home from the ferry after a busy weekend. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. Particularly impressed with the gluten free menu as my dad is coeliac. Will come back if we are up that way again!
This is our second year spending Hogmany here but this year brought 3 friends.Dog friendly room our friend had and the rest of us were in the main building.Rooms are clean,comfy and warm. The restaurant serves fantastic food,great choice and very flavourful. The waiting staff were mainly young women,they were kept very busy and did an outstanding job. The New Year entertainment was great,a live band and an adequate dance floor. I presume it's the owner was fantastic,he was very dapper in his bow tie and velvet jacket,he played the accordion outside for us and had a lovely fireworks display.He went above and beyond,going round tables clearing up but taking time to chat.It is going to be a yearly tradition for us.Thanks to everyone.

Had lunch here today and enjoyed the friendly, efficient service. The chicken stuffed with haggis plus creamy sauce and all the extra side dishes were cooked to perfection. Utterly delicious!. My second visit here and I'd recommend it to anyone.
Another amazing dinner in this wee hidden gem. Easily one of the best restaurants in Scotland. Brilliant service as usual. First course brought to our table within 5 minutes and the quality of the food is as good as Michelin star restaurants with brilliant portion sizes. Beautiful decor in the restaurant and the bar area is the cosiest wee pub in Scotland and the staff really look after you with a friendly chat and smiles! Wouldn’t go past this wee place ever
Had an evening meal here with my wife whilst staying for a couple of days in Portpatrick. The young lad who looked after us was friendly and attentive, and the food was excellent. We had the lamb chops and the duck breast and both dishes were absolutely spot on. Would not hesitate to recommend.
Booked a table in pet friendly snug after a previous drop in for a drink. The place is a Tardis! Loads of room, lovely menu and quick service. Sweet Chilli chicken was very tasty and Steak pie was delicious! Crème Brûlée on the sweet menu, so obligated to try and Not disappointed Definitely return Thanks
